In de, om zijn uitstekende olijfolie bekend staande, Imperovallei ligt het Ligurische bergdorp Torria. In het hart van Torria ligt Casa Antonio, dat ruimte biedt aan 5 personen. Er zijn twee slaapkamers met een tweepersoonsbed, en een grote woonkamer met een slaapbank, een praktisch ingerichte keuken en een badkamer met ligbad. Op de balkons, die elk toegankelijk zijn vanuit de slaapkamers en de woonkamer kunt u heerlijk ontspannen met een goed boek. Heeft u zin in een goede Ligurische keuken, dan zijn er twee restaurants in Torria aan. Speciaal voor mountainbikers en motorrijders, is de Impero vallei met zijn prachtige hellingen heel aantrekkelijk.

The ancient town of Chiusanico lies on a ridge, where oak and chestnut woods alternate with hills covered with olive groves. According to a tradition that is corroborated by some researchers, this was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, although there is no general agreement among historians.

Torria is quietly located on a mountaintop above Chiusanico / Pontedassio, about 25 minutes from the sea and Imperia. It has a superb panoramic view of the valley. Torria offers some works of art that are well worth seeing: the drinking-trough beneath a sixteenth-century loggia, a bas-relief dated 1477 in the parish church of San Martino, the oratory of the Disciplinati della Santissima Annunziata and the sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve. This district is the venue for a biennial photography competition; the sports complex is equipped for fencing competitions.

You can take the path leading from an ancient stone wash-house in Torria and make your way up to the sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve and, passing through the woods, continue on to the San Giacomo pass and Monte Arosio.



A small grocer’s and two good restaurants are located nearby.

Just below Gazzelli, you can purchase the much awarded “Rocca di San Nicola” wine straight from the vineyard (Vermentino and Pigato). Excellent olive oil is also available, which is free of pesticides because it has been grown at altitudes above 400 m. This is also where lots of hiking or mountainbike trails start.

Nichts bestimmtes. Unterhalb des Ortes gibt es einen schönen Flusslauf mit einem natütlichen Pool. Dieser ist über einen kurzen Pfad von der Strasse gut zu erreichen.
